Install the companion

  • Download from your device's app store or sideload the signed APK.
  • Allow location, notification, and Bluetooth permissions when prompted.
  • The app weighs under 40 MB and works offline after first launch.
  • Updates are delivered silently — no manual action needed.

Provision the device

  • Open the app and tap 'Get started'.
  • The app generates a device key pair — no email or phone number required.
  • Your identity is a cryptographic hash, not a name.
  • Provisioning completes in under 3 seconds on any network.

Register citizen profile

  • Optionally add blood type, allergies, and emergency contacts.
  • This creates your ICE (In-Case-of-Emergency) profile.
  • Data is encrypted at rest — only authorised medics can read it.
  • You can update or delete your profile at any time.

Send first message

  • Tap the compose button and type a message.
  • Messages route through the best available transport — cellular, Wi-Fi, mesh, or satellite.
  • Delivery confirmation appears as a checkmark.
  • If all networks are down, messages queue and replay when connectivity returns.

Use emergency flow

  • Long-press the red SOS button for 2 seconds.
  • Select the emergency type: Medical, Fire, Collapse, Flood, or Other.
  • Your GPS coordinates are attached automatically.
  • An operator will respond within 90 seconds median.

Troubleshooting

  • If the app shows 'No network', move to higher ground or open space.
  • Restart Bluetooth if mesh peers are not visible.
  • Clear the app cache if the map does not load.
  • Force-close and reopen to reset the transport layer.
